YB3-63~355 Series (IIB) Explosion-proof Three-phase Asynchronous Motors
1 General Description
YB3 series of flameproof three-phase induction motors type of H63~355 are latest products developed by our company combining with home and abroad electromagnetic structure, technique and material etc based on YB and YB2 series of motors. This series of motors have many merits such as high-efficiency, energy conservation, big margin of temperature rise, long service life, excellent performance, low noise, advanced explosion-proof structure, high reliability and convenient operation and maintenance etc. The efficiency index of this series motors conform to the energy efficiency grades 2 of specified in GB18613-2012 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and the energy efficiency grades for small and medium three-phase asynchronous motors. Power class and the installation dimensions accord with IEC standard , also completely in the same way as YB and YB2 series three-phase induction motors.
This series of motors meet GB755 “Rotating electrical machines-Rating and performance”, industry standards of JB/T7565.1-2011 “Technical specification of YB3 series of flameproof three-phase induction motor (Frame Number: H63~355)”. Their flameproof performance should meet GB3836.1-2010 “Explosive atmospheres-Part 1: Equipment -General requirements” and GB3836.2-2010“Explosive atmospheres-Part2: Equipment protection by flameproof enclosures “d” . The flameproof types of this series of motors are ExdI Mb, ExdIIAT4 Gb and ExdIIBT4 Gb. This series of motors are suitable for the non-mining working area in underground mine or the dangerous locations in factories where there are the explosive gas of class IIA and IIB and temperature of class T1～T4.
Shell protection degree of this series of motors is IP55, the cooling system is IC411.
This series of motors have the following types: humid tropics type (YB3-TH), dry tropics type (YB3-TA), outdoor type (YB3-W), outdoor medium-anticorrosion type (YB3-WF1) and outdoor humid type (YB3-THW),outdoor dry tropics type (YB3-TAW), indoor tropics type (YB3-T)、outdoor tropics type (YB3-TW).
This series of motors have been approved the certificates of IECEx and ATEx.
2. Construction Features
The flameproof structure for ExdI Mb、ExdIIAT4 Gb and ExdIIBT4 Gb are available.
Shell protection degree of this series of motors is IP55.
The cooling system is IC411.
The stator windings are of Class F insulation and ensure a large margin of safety in temperature rise and long service life.
A cylindrical shaft extension is equipped on motors, which is driven by coupling or spur gearing.
The stator windings are wound with high-strength polyester enamel round wire of high strength and then treated with the progress of vacuum-pressure impregnation (VPI), to make them become a solid integral. Therefore, the winding insulation is excellent in electrical and mechanical properties, moisture resistance and thermal stability.
The rotors are of cast-aluminum, and dynamically balanced to make the motor operate smoothly with small vibration and low noise.
The stator and rotor cores are laminated with high-class electrical silicon steel sheet with high permeability and low loss. thus makes the motors possess low loss and high efficiency.
The motors are fitted with low vibration and low noise bearings. For the motors of frame size 132 and below, bilaterally shielded ball bearings are used and corrugated spring washers at the driving ends pressed on bearings with proper pressure to restrain effectively the vibration and noise produced during motors’ operation. For the motors of frame size 160 and above, the bearings with inner and outer covers are used and retaining rings at bearing position are equipped on shafts to prevent the rotor from moving axially.
In order to operate safety and reliably, according to customer requirements, the bearings of the motors frame size 160 ~225 are provided with greasing attachments. Which are of the use to drain or replenish the lubricating grease without stopping the motors. For the frame size 250 and above, the positions for mounting bearing temperature monitoring censers are preliminary left.

Duty type: continuous (S1)
Altitude: An altitude is not exceeding 1000 meters above sea level
Ambient air temperature: The minimum ambient temperature is -15℃. The maximum is 35℃ (in underground coal mine) or 40℃(in factories).
The maximum relative humidity of ambient air is not exceeding 95%(under the condition of temperature 25℃)(in underground coal mine)or the monthly average relative humidity is 90% and the monthly average minimum temperature is not exceeding 25℃ in the moistest month(in factories).
The order with the special requirements for operation conditions shall be through the negotiation of both the supply and demand party.

5. Constructions, Mounting Arrangements and Overall Dimensions
5.1 Constructions and Mounting Arrangements
The mounting arrangements of this series motors conform to China Standards GB997“Construction and mounting arrangement of rotating electrical machinery” and IEC60034-7.
Five basic constructions are as following:
B3 ------- frame with feet and cover without flange.
B5 ------- frame without feet and cover with flange.
B35 ----- frame with feet and cover with flange.
B14 ----- frame without feet and cover with small flange.
B34 ----- frame with feet and cover with small flange.
Based on five constructions mentioned above, this series motors can be modified into15 constructions and mounting arrangements. For the manufacture range, see Table 6. And for the constructions and mounting arrangements, see Table 7.
5.2 Construction of motor terminal box.
The structure of the terminal boxes is in possession of excellent flameproof performance, higher protection degree and bigger compartment being in favor of connection. There are four enter-wire forms are available: they are rubber-insulated cable, conduit entry and explosion-proof flexible pipe (armoured cable).According to different requirements, the inlet entry can be made into one or two, (one entry is suitable for motor direct-on-line starting and two entries for motor Y-△starting). 6、Ordering Instructions:
The user should give the following parameters in the time of ordering goods: model of the motor, rated power, rated voltage, rated frequency, number of poles, rotating direction, Explosion-proof Mark, protection degree, installation type, working form, environmental condition and operating condition as well as operating requirements of matching mechanical equipment etc.
This series of motors can be supplemented with the installation of temperature measuring components, bearing temperature measuring components (only allowed to install on the motors with the center height of 160or above), thermistors (for single voltage),heating band (specify the voltage), bearing tempering temperature measuring components with local display instrument(only allowed to install on the motors with the center height of 160or above).If there any demand ,please specify it when placing an order.
